The TruckVault Story
Our History
1996
The First Vault is Built
The first TruckVault was built in 1995 when Al Chandler adapted a homemade drawer system for secure gear storage. Interest grew quickly as friends and local outdoorsmen requested their own, launching the company.
1998
Law Enforcement SUVs
Al began showcasing the drawer systems at shooting competitions. It was there that law enforcement officers first discovered the design, sparking early interest from agencies looking for secure vehicle storage.
2004
Custom Made-to-Order
In the early 2000s, TruckVault began building custom multi-level storage systems for mobile command vehicles. These projects expanded the company’s role from secure storage to supporting on-the-go command operations for law enforcement agencies.
2018
Manufacturing Expansion to Mt. Jackson, VA
TruckVault expanded operations to Mt. Jackson, Virginia, opening a manufacturing facility to better serve federal and government customers across the East Coast while reducing lead times for agencies in the region.
2026
Next Generation Security
Today, TruckVault continues to raise the bar with new security features, advanced locking systems, and a commitment to the next generation of vehicle storage innovation.

This homemade prototype was nothing more than two long drawers with no locks that served to keep my guns and gear handy, and protected from the other stuff that was banging around in the bed of my truck.
