The DroneVault
Peter Janicki is a fourth-generation logger in Skagit County. The drone came first — a survey tool that earns its keep on every ridge. The problem came with it: miles of dust and washboard between the shop and the site, with thousands of dollars of electronics riding in the open.
The ask: “One of the biggest things, after investing in that drone, was getting it up on site unscathed,” Peter says. “I needed tie-down areas to hold the drone into place.” So that became the brief: clamp it, pad it, seal it away from the road.
He described the drive. We built for it.

The Design
His problem, drawn to the inch — This is the actual signed sheet: a 48″ × 47″ vault with an HD pull-out tray, foam lining, clamps shaped to the drone’s legs, cargo rings, D-rings for lifting, and a seal around the door. Every requirement from the conversation, dimensioned and approved.
The Build
“They created this drawer system that slides all the way in and locks.” Lay the drawing over the delivery photo and the lines land on the build — drawer, clamps, and seal, right where the pen put them.
The Result
Here’s what Peter says about his TruckVault: “Completely clean on the inside … When we shut this up, it keeps out all environment — including dust and rain. A box like this, that secures your goods worth thousands of dollars? It’s a great peace of mind.”

The Goat-Friendly Travel and Storage Solution
Ryan Gaither owns Choice Landscapes LLC in Skagit Valley, and he’ll tell you himself he’s “maybe an obsessive hunter that sometimes takes extreme risks.” – he hunts with pack goats because nothing else makes it where he goes.
The ask: “What I needed that was custom was a narrow vault that would still allow maximum space between the wheel wells for loading goats in and out of the truck — and I still wanted to be able to haul rifles. Two rifles, one on each side.” That left his Tundra with two jobs that don’t usually share a truck bed — haul the herd, and keep a hunter’s gear locked up and dry.

The Design
The answer was in the corners — Mirror-image saddle vaults drawn over the wheel wells — drawers stacked into space the goats couldn’t use anyway. “This bottom drawer is not as deep — it hits the wheel well — but I keep handgun, bow release, ammo, trail camera, headlamp, binoculars. Super handy.”
The Build
Drawn, then delivered — “The goats make a mess all over the back of this truck — and all my guns, binoculars, all my valuables stay totally dry and in perfect condition.” The drawing over the finished build: drawers where the sheet put them, the bay open down the middle.
The Result
The herd loads first — “It’s narrow enough I can actually fit three of my largest pack goats… pretty much everything valuable that I take on a hunt fits in these four drawers.”
